With very fast processes, in some cases with very short cycle times, requirements for devices used in temperature measurement are especially onerous. Optris now offers the high-speed pyrometer CTlaser 4M specifically for these applications. As well as an ultra-rapid capture time of just 90 µs, it provides a good optical resolution of 33:1 and various focus options.

Top Down Glas Inspection System GIS 640 R

Optris GmbH has now developed the special GIS 640 R system for glass hardening applications. It is based on the PI 640 IR camera and can be optimally used on any glass curing system thanks to selectable optics with different aperture angles.

The GIS 640 R also delivers excellent results when measuring low-E glasses.

Optris introduces its innovations optris Xi 80 and optris Xi 400. The two temperature measurement devices combine the benefits of infrared cameras and infrared thermometers. “With the Xi series, we are launching a semi-autonomous sensor which, in addition to traditional PC and software-based operation, also works as a smart pyrometer with analog or digital outputs that seeks the target on its own. This opens up new fields of application, e.g. in mechanical engineering or multisensor applications,” explains Dipl.-Ing. Torsten Czech, Head of Product Management at Optris.

optris PI 05 M measures the hot spot of a pouring stream

The new infrared camera optris PI 05M features a continuous measurement range from 900 to 2000 °C. It has an optical resolution of 764 x 480 pixels and measures at a wavelength of 500 to 540 nm. Thus, the PI 05M supplements the optris PI 1M (0.85 to 1.1 µm). Thanks to its special spectral range, measurement errors resulting from unknown or changing emissivities are reduced.

Optris develops, manufactures and distributes infrared thermometers and infrared cameras since 2003 from its company headquarters in Berlin. The company started with premises sized 300 m². Since Januar 2017, Optris’ premises comprise 3000 m².

As well as cooling housing, Optris GmbH now also offers specially designed protective housing for the outdoors. This allows the optris PI Series infrared cameras to be used outdoors all year round in rough conditions. As a special feature the outdoor protective housing has an air purge collar. The USB Server Gigabit, which can be integrated into the housing, allows the infrared camera to be linked to the control system over large distances.

The optris PI 640 thermal imaging camera launched onto the market in 2014 is now available with two additional changeable lenses. Three lenses with 33°, 60° and 90° fields of view are now available for different measuring tasks and customer requirements. “With this offer, we are launching the first VGA thermal imaging camera with a 90° lens for under 7,000 euros”, explains Torsten Czech, Product Marketing Manager at Optris GmbH. The price includes both calibration and open source software.

The optris® PI 1M thermal imaging camera is the latest innovation in the Optris GmbH camera range.
