Response time
When measuring temperature with a pyrometer or with an infrared camera, the response time is an important factor. It indicates the time it takes for a meter to display a sudden change (increase) in the temperature of an object at 90% at the signal output. Accordingly, devices with short setup times are better suited for applications in fast processes.
Optris documents the setup time for the IR cameras in their Precision Line in a Final Inspection Report. The response time of the pyrometers is also indicated in the data sheets.
